Hypothesis Testing of Binomial Distribution in GeoGebra

Here’s how you can use the Probability Calculator GeoGebra icon in GeoGebra to perform a hypothesis test with the binomial distribution:

GeoGebra Instruction 1

1.
Open Probability Calculator GeoGebra icon under GeoGebra icon View in GeoGebra icon Menu.
2.
Make sure that you choose the Distribution tab at the top of the window.
3.
Select Binomial from the drop-down list. Enter the values for n and p from your problem.
4.
Choose Left-sided GeoGebra icon, Two tailed, or Right-sided GeoGebra icon depending on your problem.
  • If you’re asked to perform a one-sided test where the alternative hypothesis is p < p0, choose Left-sided GeoGebra icon

  • If you’re asked to perform a one-sided test where the alternative hypothesis is p > p0, choose Right-sided GeoGebra icon

  • If you’re asked to perform a two-sided test where the alternative hypothesis is pp, choose Two tailed

5.
Enter the value from your test in the inequality or inequalities involving the random variable X, and press Enter.
  • If the test is one-sided, the p-value of the test is equal to the probability on the right-hand side.

  • If the test is two-sided, multiply the probability on the right-hand side by 2. This is the p-value of the test.
